Qualifications

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, licensed by the State of Connecticut (CT License #218). I am certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors, Inc. and a member of the Connecticut Counseling Association.

My professional training includes a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Lesley College in Cambridge, Mass. I have been in private practice since 1993.

In addition to my Masters Degree, I am certified in Body Centered Gestalt psychotherapy. I am trained in guided imagery work, sand tray therapy and dream work. I am also a certified Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner. Somatic Experiencing® is a gentle, powerful method designed to release over- whelming stress and its symptoms from the body. Background

Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, I had broad experience in the corporate world. I understand the pressures and demands of the corporate environment and the stress it can produce in our lives, relationships and physical bodies. Through my own personal growth journey, I made a choice to change careers mid-life and become a therapist.

Philosophy

My belief is that each of us has the capacity to grow and reconnect to our true self. As a psychotherapist, I am honored to walk this path with others seeking counseling to change and truly enjoy their life.

I believe that our life experiences are reflected not only in our thoughts and emotions but also stored in the body on a deep physical level. I offer a holistic therapeutic approach integrating body, mind and spirit in my practice.

My personal style is warm and engaging. My intention is to create safety and support as a foundation for our work.
