Psychotherapist – West Hartford, CT

Psychotherapy Sessions

In our initial therapy session we will discuss the frequency of sessions that will suit your particular needs. Weekly or every other week is a common arrangement.

Psychotherapy sessions are typically 50-60 minutes in duration. There are times when circumstances could warrant us scheduling a 90 minute session.

Fees

Individual therapy sessions  are $150.00 for a 60 minute session.

Couples/Marriage Counseling sessions are $150.00 for a 60 minute session.

Payment

You are expected to pay your fee at the end of each session or at the end of the month. I accept cash or check.

Insurance

If your health insurance includes “Out of Network” outpatient mental health benefits, this provision usually provides coverage for my services. This means you are responsible for payment at the time of service and I will provide you with an itemized statement at the end of the month, which you can then submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. I do not accept managed care.

Confidentiality

All information disclosed in a psychotherapy or counseling session is strictly confidential and may not be revealed to anyone without your written permission. However, there are circumstance where I am ethically and legally obligated to breach confidentiality. These situations are:

  • If you present a serious or imminent danger to yourself or others.
  • In cases of apparent abuse or neglect of a child, elderly person or a disabled person.
  • When a judge orders the release of information.

Note: If you choose to use your health insurance benefits, the insurance company will require personal information concerning your mental health. At a minimum, the insurance company requires a psychiatric diagnosis and dates and types of service provided. The confidentiality of any information provided to your insurance carrier cannot be guaranteed.

Consultation

I will consult with other mental health professionals concerning my therapy clients when appropriate; however, the clientÂ’s identity remains completely anonymous and confidentiality is fully maintained.

Cancellations

Since scheduling a psychotherapy appointment involves reserving a time specifically for you, a minimum of 24 hours notice is required for us to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Unless we reach a different agreement, the full fee will be charged for late cancellations and missed appointments.
